Create Video

Create Video runs the full long-form pipeline: pick a format and language, supply narration (AI voiceover, upload, or pasted script), walk through a short wizard, then generate an MP4. Open the form at /videos/create/ (login required). For product formats and deliverables, see the overview.

Three ways to supply narration. On step 1 you choose exactly one: a target duration (AI writes a script and generates TTS), an uploaded voiceover (skip TTS), or a pasted script (length estimated from the text; AI voice later). Switch between them with the “Prefer …” links under each option. Need a standalone documentary script first? Use Create Script.

How to create a video

  1. Go to Create Video in the app sidebar.
  2. Format — choose Documentary (B-Roll), Top 10, or another available format.
  3. Language — language for script / transcription and on-screen text (default English).
  4. Auto (paid plans) — when off, you can review an AI-generated script before processing. Uploaded voiceovers and pasted scripts skip that review.
  5. Title — at least 3 words (e.g. “The Fall of the American Mall”).
  6. Narration — pick one path below (duration + description, upload, or Add Script).
  7. Check the estimated credits, then click Next.
  8. Complete the wizard (voice if needed → background → music → theme → style reference), then click Generate Video.
  9. Watch progress on the status page — you can leave and come back; long renders can take a while.

Step 1 fields

Field Required Notes
Format Yes Controls footage style and pacing. Some formats may be under maintenance or entitlement-gated.
Language Yes Script / transcription and text language. 50+ options.
Auto Paid only Free accounts always run with Auto on. Voiceover uploads and pasted scripts skip script review.
Title Yes UI requires at least 3 words; max 255 characters.
Duration One of three TTS path: target length for AI script + voiceover. Cleared if you upload audio or paste a script.
Description / angle TTS only Shown when a duration is selected. 200–20,000 characters. Guides the AI script.
Voiceover upload One of three Your narration audio. Runtime becomes the video duration. Skips TTS charges.
Add Script One of three Paste a finished script. Duration is estimated from word count; you pick a voice in the wizard.
Estimated credits Display Rough browser estimate from duration / audio / script. TTS paths include video + TTS at cost.
Aspect ratio Fixed New videos are 16:9. Other ratios appear when editing an existing project.

Narration options

Choose one path. They are mutually exclusive — picking another clears the previous attachment.

1. Duration + AI voiceover (TTS)

  • Select a Duration, then fill in Description / angle (200–20,000 characters).
  • Options start at 1 hour: 1 hour, 1 hour 30 mins, 2 hours, 2 hours 30 mins, 3 hours, 3 hours 20 mins.
  • After Next, you choose a TTS voice. AI voiceover is billed separately at provider cost — see voiceover generation.

2. Upload your own voiceover

  • Drag & drop or click the upload zone under Voiceover or script.
  • Accepted: MP3, WAV, M4A, WEBM, OGG, FLAC, MPEG, MPGA (max ~500 MB; minimum 1 hour; max length ~3 hours 20 mins by default).
  • Kliptory transcribes the audio and uses it as the script timeline. No TTS charge.
  • Voice selection is skipped in the wizard.

3. Paste a custom script

  • Click Add Script, paste narration, then save.
  • Duration is estimated from word count (~160 wpm). You still pick a voice later (TTS charged).
  • Scripts must be at least ~1 hour (~9,600 words) and can run up to about 3 hours (longer ceiling when a long-form duration is also set).

Formats

Options commonly shown on Create Video:

Experimental formats (Simple Explainer, Whiteboard, Sketch, Stickman, Monkey Explained, Vox Style) appear only when enabled for the site. Talking Head, Avatar Video, Vox Animation, Infographic, and 3D Faceless Mannequins are not offered as new create options on this page. See the overview for visual style notes.

Wizard after step 1

After you click Next, Kliptory saves the project and sends you to the first incomplete setup step. A typical documentary B-Roll path:

  1. Review script — only when Auto is off and the script was AI-generated (skipped for uploads and pasted scripts)
  2. Select voice — TTS / pasted-script paths only (skipped when you uploaded narration)
  3. Background — visual backdrop for the piece
  4. Background music — music bed under narration
  5. Visual theme — look and motion treatment
  6. Style reference / thumbnail — reference look, then Generate Video

Other formats add steps (whiteboard / sketch style and hand, stickman or monkey character and animation style, caption style for vertical ratios when editing). Simple Explainer and some illustration paths skip background and theme.

Credits

  • Step 1 shows a rough estimate from duration, voiceover length, or script length (you can continue the wizard even if short on credits).
  • Duration and pasted-script paths include an estimated TTS line at provider cost.
  • Credits are checked and reserved when you click Generate Video on the style reference step (with a buffer).
  • Final video charge is based on measured runtime and format rate; TTS is settled after voice synthesis when applicable.
  • Free accounts can complete the wizard; settings are saved, but generation waits until you subscribe.

Limits

  • Login required to open Create Video.
  • Narration: provide duration, voiceover, or script — one is required.
  • Voiceover upload: max ~500 MB; minimum 1 hour; default max duration ~3 hours 20 mins.
  • Pasted script: at least ~9,600 words (~1 hour at 160 wpm).
  • TTS description: 200–20,000 characters when using the duration path.
  • Aspect ratio: new videos are 16:9 (other ratios when editing).
  • Concurrent generations: plan-based slot limit (e.g. Creator 3). Submit is blocked when your slots are full.
  • Incident mode: if the site is under an incident, new submissions may be paused.

After generation

  • ✓Progress page with pipeline stages (script → scenes → voiceover → assets → merge)
  • ✓Finished MP4 ready for YouTube
  • ✓Captions, stems, and FCP XML when export is enabled
  • ✓Project listed in your library
