Create Script

Create Script generates a standalone long-form documentary script — 1 to 3 hours, written in chapters. It does not render a video. Use it when you want the narration first, then paste the result into Script to Video or edit it elsewhere. Open the form at /videos/create-script/ (login required).

Not the same as Create Video. Create Video runs the full pipeline (voiceover → footage → MP4). Create Script only writes the script. One script at a time; there is no regenerate — start a new job if you need changes.

How to generate a script

Go to Create Script in the app sidebar (or open My scripts → New script).
Title — required. Name the documentary (e.g. “The Fall of the American Mall”).
Duration — choose 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours.
Description / angle — optional but recommended. Tell the model the audience, tone, and what to emphasize (e.g. “Explain the collapse simply for a general audience. Focus on how customer money was mixed with Alameda…”).
Check the credit estimate panel. If you are short, top up or upgrade from billing.
Click Generate script. You are redirected to the script detail page while it runs.

Form fields

Chapters and length

Scripts are researched, outlined, then written chapter by chapter (~30 minutes of narration per chapter):

Generation can take several minutes for longer jobs. The detail page shows a loading state, then chapters as they become ready.

Credits

An estimate is shown before you submit (based on duration).
That estimate is charged upfront when generation starts.
The final charge is based on finished word count.
Unused estimate is refunded; overage is charged when possible.
If generation fails, the estimated credits are refunded.

Limits

One in flight: you can only have one script pending or generating at a time.
No regenerate: to change title, angle, or length, create a new script.
Credits required: you need enough spendable credits to cover the estimate before submit.

After generation

To turn the narration into a video, paste it into Create Video in script mode, or use the Script to Video flow.
